THE KNOWING

HARDEN UP
it's currently 27degrees outside with at least an inch of snow and winds of up to 40mph, and i'm going out for a bike race. wish me luck.

POST RACE REPORT:
it turned out to be a race in the dark with a half inch of ice over all road surfaces. adding to that the intense wind gusts you would suddenly encounter made for a very interesting race environment. ended up in about fourth at the last check point before the finish and there was no one manning the check point to sign manifests. i looked at the pack of dudes waiting dumbfounded and was like, "there is no one here: i guess that means sprint to the finish, bitches". we took off down an icy downtown street and i ended up wiping out on the streetcar tracks. i took down like four of the leading seven guys with me on the ice and lost my leading position. ended up in fifth with this strange ass fabric horse fanny pack prize. fun fucking times all said and done. four spills in total, two after the race two during. portland is totally ice tonight.

macaframa is overrated, btw. it's just like mash except it has no cultural significance/ influence, but is shot on hd so everything looks dope. for an sf movie, the seattle kids where the stand out. keo ruled as usual but my favorite segment was john cardial's . i'd like to see some hill bombs on ice, bitches.

Success is contagious
I'm also diggin my job and making mroe than I thought. This beast of a playground is epic and continues to become more and more complex as the realities of space and design clash. Will it be possible? who knows. The pictures below are of the first component of the 6 component structure. I gotta get up for work at 7 tomorrow so I better go to bed, but here are some pics of the process so far.

FIELDING

you will be seeing this image again. taken from the wonderful, though horribly anti-feminist, 'night of the hunter'.

gotta take a min to give some bday shout outs to y'all favorite, chris chou. happy birthday homie!
it's also my man andy's birthday time and it seems like he has spent his special day making this fucking sweet website. he turned me onto the audio a little while ago and i'm really digging this presentation. go have a look, play the audio at the bottom and enjoy a well rounded view of his vision. dope dude.

might have bureaucrats to badger at UBC this week, so don't be surprised if i show up in van soon.

Kick then Push
So the downtown skate park is beautiful. Amazing view of the city, immaculate surfaces, and a really amazing layout, and it's free. It begs for progression from every level of skater. On a friday afternoon it was peppered with a mix of crusty old pool skaters and super gnarly little kids. Super fun. Check this fucking place out and know that I might start skating again.
